Margaret M. LaFond

Laconia-----Margaret M. LaFond, 95, died at the Harris Hill Health Center, Concord on Thursday, September 24, 2009. She was the widow of Carl F. LaFond who died in 1996.
Mrs. LaFond was born March 20, 1914 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Antonio and Rose (Rancourt) Marcous. She lived in Maine for several years before moving to Concord, N.H. and then to Laconia where she had lived for the last sixty-one years.
Mrs. LaFond was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a member of the Ladies’ Guild and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the American Legion Wilkins Smith Post #1 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks Emblem Club. Mrs. LaFond enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Survivors include two sons, Carl E. LaFond and David E. LaFond, both of Laconia; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. LaFond was predeceased by a son, Richard S. LaFond, by an infant daughter, Carlene M. LaFond and by her siblings, Napolean Marcous, Lionel Marcous, John Marcous, Roger Marcous, Jeanette Marcous, Pauline Croteau, Albina Gouger and Beatrice Bell.
A calling hour for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009 from 9:00-9:45AM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
Following the calling hour, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H by Rev. Marc Drouin.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Oakland Cemetery, Meredith, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
