Center Harbor-----Charles S. Garden, Jr., 71, of 65 College Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, September 13, 2009.

Mr. Garden was born September 25, 1937 in Reading, Mass., the son of Thelma (Reose) and Charles S. Garden, Sr. He lived in Newton, N.H. for several years before moving to Center Harbor twenty-five years ago.

Mr. Garden was captain and owner of the Queen of Winnipesaukee for a number of years.

Mr. Garden was a sales manager for Tempress for forty-four years, retiring in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Sally (Remick) Garden, of Center Harbor; a son, Charles S. Garden, III of New Hampton; two daughters, Johanna Lundvall of Tuckerton, New Jersey and Katharine Tkach of New Hampton; four grandchildren; Rayna Lundvall, Kerstin Lundvall, Emma Garden and Madeline Garden and two nieces and one nephew.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00-4:00PM on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the family home, 65 College Road, Center Harbor, N.H.

A private graveside service will be held at the family lot in Coe Cemetery, Center Harbor, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive, Suite 101, Natick, Mass. 01760.
