Manchester-----Lauria M. Poirier, 90, of 29 Baldwin Street, Franklin, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Mrs. Poirier was the widow of Lucien G. Poirier, who died in October, 2006.
Mrs. Poirier was born December 22, 1918 in Manchester, N.H., the daughter of Amedee and Rosalie (Vanasse) Levesque and had lived all of her life in Manchester until moving to Franklin seven years ago. She w as a seamstress and was employed at the Pandora Coat Factory for thirty years before retiring in 1979.
Mrs. Poirier was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.
Mrs. Poirier is survived by a son, Albert Poirier, of Plymouth Union, Vermont; a daughter, Claire Lemay, of Belmont; five grandchildren, Christopher Poirier, Michael Poirier, Ben Poirier, Sharon Lemay and Lisa Lemay; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Scarlett of Florida and Alice Tetu of Manchester and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Poirier was predeceased by a grandson, Carl Lemay, a daughter-in-law, Muriel Lemay, three brothers and a sister.
A calling hour will be held at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont on Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 9:00-10:00AM. Following the calling hour, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM also at the Church.
Burial will be in the family lot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, N. H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Parish Food Pantry, PO Box 285, Belmont, N.H. 03220.
