Annie E. Swenson

Laconia-----Mrs. Annie E. Swenson, 94, of 30 Cross Street, died at the St. Francis Home on Sunday, September 28, 2003. Mrs. Swenson was the widow of Retired Police Lt. Paul A. Swenson who died in 1978.

Mrs. Swenson was born January 3, 1909 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Albert and Annie (Fitzpatrick) Emery and was a life long resident of Laconia. She graduated from St. John School (now Holy Trinity) in 1922 and from Laconia High School in 1926. She was employed by the Belknap County Coop. Extension for thirty-eight years and was an administrative assistant when she retired in 1980. She loved all and was much loved.

Mrs. Swenson was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a member and past president of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of the AARP and her favorite pastimes were knitting and reading.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary E. and Norman Colburn of Laconia, NH and Barbara and Philip Howland of Clearwater, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. and Pam Swenson of Green Valley, AZ; 10 wonderful grandchildren, Katherine Wormhood, Philip Howland, Thomas Howland, Karen Edwards, Stacy Maurakos, Grant Swenson, Erica Swenson-Grant, Cynthia Harrell, Daniel Colburn and Katherine Stafford; 16 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles W. Emery in 1983 and Bernard P. Emery, who died in 1985.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home, Wishes Come True, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246
