Alma "Noni" M. Garcia

Laconia, NH-----Mrs. Alma "Noni" M. Garcia, 88, of 2 Opal Lane and formerly of Barre, Vermont died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Julio Garcia who died in 1977.

Mrs. Garcia was born September 27, 1914 in Barre, Vermont, the daughter of Peter & Carmiletta Abbiati. She resided in Barre until July 3, 1999 when she moved to Laconia, NH to live with her daughter, Carlene Roy.

Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Montpelier Emblem (Elks) Club and the Masonic Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was employed at the Capitol Stationary Store of Barre for thirty-five years.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Jacobs and Anita Bergeron both of Barre, Vermont and Carlene Roy of Laconia, NH; a son, Jeff Garcia of Peru, New York; nine grandchildren, including Rodney Roy, James Roy, Mark Roy and Crystal Roy all of Laconia, NH; and nine great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2003 from 7-9PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 5, 2003 from 2-4 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM at the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre, Vermont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Monica's Church in Barre, Vermont on Saturday, September 6, 2003, time to be announced. Burial will be in the family lot in Hope Cemetery, Barre, Vermont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
