Gilford, NH------Mrs. Cecelia A. Fitzgerald, 96, of 363 Old Lake Shore Road, died at the Genesis Eldercare Network Laconia Center, Laconia, NH on Saturday, September 13, 2003. Mrs. Fitzgerald was the widow of William B. Fitzgerald who died in 1977.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born November 11, 1906 in Bangor, Maine, the adopted daughter of Melvin E. and Catherine C. (Prescott) Gerry.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was raised in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and graduated from Clark County High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She lived in Malden & Medford, MA most of her life where she was a nurse's aide at various area hospitals and nursing homes. Mrs. Fitzgerald was mother to over forty foster children and raised three to adulthood. She moved to Gilford, NH in 1994.

Survivors include a son, William Fitzgerald of Jupiter, Florida; five daughters, Gertrude Fitzgerald of Medford, MA; Cecelia "TeeDee" Drever, of Gilford, NH; Ruth DeFeo of Newburg, Maine; Janice Koch of Pelham, NH and Wilma Pappalardo of W. Yarmouth, MA; 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Freeman, who died in 1994.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 from 9:30-10:30AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Following the calling hour at 11:00AM, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH. Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
