Laconia, NH-----Richard Paul Dupont, 64, of 12 Pleasant Street, died on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at the Manchester V.A. Hospital, Manchester, NH.

Mr. Dupont was born on March 26, 1939 in Chicopee, MA, the son on Walter and Cecile (Laporte) Dupont.

He served with the U. S. Air Force in Germany for 4 years and worked for many years as a retail and theater manager in Massachusetts and New Jersey. Recently, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Laconia. He enjoyed camping, hiking, music, the Arts, videos, some sports, and the company of his loyal, supportive friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Mr. Dupont was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia.

Survivors include his beloved former wife and special friend, Mary; his beloved children, Richelle and Christopher; his beloved grandchildren, Meghan and Eamon; his beloved sister, Patricia; and several aunts and cousins.

A Memorial calling hour will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2003 from 10:30AM to 11:30AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

Following the calling hour, a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street Laconia, NH at 11:30AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be held in the family lot in St. Rose Cemetery in Chicopee, Massachusetts.


It was Mr. Dupont's wishes, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to one of his favorite charities which include the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032; the Manchester General Post Fund at the Manchester V.A. Hospital, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104; the Manchester V.A. Chaplain Activities Fund at the Manchester V.A. Hospital, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104; St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246; or the Plant-A-Tree Program of the White Mountain National Forest, c/o 719 Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
