Mary E. Kiernan

Laconia-----Mrs. Mary E. Kiernan, 95, formerly of 90 Blueberry Lane, died at the Harborside Healthcare in Bedford, NH on Thursday, September 19, 2002. She was the widow of Daniel J. Kiernan who died in 1987.

Mrs. Kiernan was born May 4, 1907 in Albany, New York, the daughter of John Henry and Thirza (Wilkins) McAuley. She had been a resident of Laconia most of her life and was a seamstress for over 40 years. She was a seamstress at O’Shea’s for 15 years and retired in 1984.

Mrs. Kiernan was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia and was a member of the Ladies’ Guild. She was also a member of the Laconia Country Club.

Survivors include a niece, Barbara Stone, of Bedford, NH.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Harry Sanborn; a sister, Kathryn Johnson and two nephews, Orin Johnson and Arthur Johnson.

A calling hour will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, Church Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery.
