Laconia------Mrs. Elva M. Jordan, 83, formerly of 7 Church Street, Laconia, NH died at the Pheasant Wood Nursing Home in Peterborough on Monday, September 30, 2002. Mrs. Jordan was the widow of Royal A. Jordan, Jr. who died in 1974.
Mrs. Jordan was born February 8, 1919 in Tulare, CA, the daughter of Jess and Rosetta (Sawyer) Corder. She served in the U. S. Army Nurses Corp. during World War II.
Mrs. Jordan lived in Portland, Oregon before she moved to Laconia, NH over 40 years ago. Mrs. Jordan was a registered nurse for over 45 years. She worked at the Lakes Region General Hospital and after her retirement in 1998, she continued nursing for a short time at the McKerley Nursing Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hill, of New Boston, NH; a son, James Jordan, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; a brother, Glen Corder, of Bullshead City, AZ; a nephew, Craig Corder of California and several cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
There will be no funeral service.
Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick, Maine.
