Northfield-----Diane McIsaac Townsend, 44, of 13 Arch Street, Northfield, N.H. died suddenly at her home on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

Diane was born March 3, 1964 in Laconia, New Hampshire, the daughter of John “Jack” Alexander and Sylvia (Lehnert) McIsaac.

Diane lived in Gilford, New Hampshire for many years before moving to Northfield, NH following her marriage in 2003.  She graduated from Gilford High School in 1982 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1992. During her college years, she was employed by Sawyers Dairy Bar and Jackson Star in Gilford. She was a case worker in the Social Services Department for the State of New Hampshire, Laconia office until 2006.  At the time of her death, she was in the process of establishing a precision machine job shop and ornamental fence business, Acclaimed Creations LLC in Ashland, with her husband, David. She was also a realtor with Reed Elwell Realty, secretary of the Lincoln Micro Credit group, a member of New Hampshire Made and a member of PAREI.

Diane had a passion for her Scottish ancestry, Clan Ranald-MacDonald and was married at Castle Tioram, Moidart on the Ardnamurchan peninsular Scotland in 2003.  She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, kindness, inventiveness and her ability to always see the glass half full.  She loved the sea coast and the outdoor activities of camping, fishing and most of all gardening.

Diane is survived by her husband, David; one stepson, Steven Townsend; a brother, David McIsaac of Fairbanks, Alaska; two nieces, Olivia McIsaac and Alexandra McIsaac; two cousins, Jon Neal of Gilford, and Janice Neal of Kittery Point, Maine and Emma Kitty, Hide & Seek, Gemma and Hudson, the four turtles.  Diane was predeceased by her parents, and her aunt and uncle, Frank and Barbara Neal.

Please join family and friends for a gathering of the “Clan” to celebrate her life which will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 3:00PM at the 1875 Inn, 255 Main Street, Tilton, NH 03276.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the PAREI renewable energy PO Box 753, Plymouth NH 03264 or the Society for the Protection of NH Forests, 54 Portsmouth Street, Concord, NH 03301.
