Belmont-----Paul A. Hawthorne, Jr., 73, of 149 Dutile Road, died at his home on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Mr. Hawthorne was born December 13, 1934 in Concord, N.H., the son of Lura (Cate) and Paul Adam Hawthorne, Sr. He was a longtime resident of Belmont and was employed at Scott & Williams and Baron Machine before retiring in 1991.

Mr. Hawthorne was a member of the N.R.A.

Survivors include two sons, Paul A. Hawthorne III of Warrenson, Penn. and Michael Hawthorne of Friendsville, Penn.; a daughter, Laurie M. Hawthorne, of Owego, New York; two stepsons, Marc Trendell of Belmont, N.H. and Lance Trendell of Keene, N.H.; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a brother, Roger Hawthorne, of Gainsville, Florida. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawthorne was predeceased by his wife of forty-three years, Dorothy (Stefan) Hawthorne.

According to his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Burial will be in the family lot in Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc ., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N.H. 03246.
