Belmont-----John Donnangelo, 78, of Belmont, N.H. died at his home on Sunday, October 5, 2008.

John was born May 26, 1930 in Corona, New York, the son of Phillip and Theresa (Donnabella) Donnangelo.

John lived in Brentwood, New York for many years before moving to Belmont, NH ten years ago. He served in the U. S. Navy and was employed by the New York City Police Department for twenty-two years before retiring in July, 1981.

John was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the USN Cruiser Sailors Association and a member of the American Legion Belmont Post #658.

John Donnangelo is survived by his wife, Louisa E. (Karch) Donnangelo; two sons, Richard Donnangelo and Louis John Donnangelo; two daughters, Teresa Oberhausen and Marjorie Karstens; eight grandchildren, Christina, Robert and John Albert Karstens, Lauren and Andrew Donnangelo, Kurt Oberhausen and Phillip and Isabella Donnangelo; a brother, Frank Donnangelo, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Donnangelo was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Klienfield and by two brothers, Angelo Donnangelo and Michael Donnangelo.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N.H. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:00AM.
Burial, with military honors, will follow in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Robert Leroux Council #10943, PO Box 285, Belmont, NH 03220 or to St. Joseph Parish, P.O. Box 285, Belmont, N.H. 03220.
