Doris "Grambo" L. Sharpe

FONDLY KNOWN AS “GRAMBO”

Belmont, NH-----Doris “Grambo” L. Sharpe, 89, of 35 Magnolia Lane, Belmont, NH died at her home on Monday, November 2, 2009. Mrs. Sharpe was the widow of Ronald B. Sharpe who died in 1981.
Mrs. Sharpe was born July 25, 1920 in Brookline, Mass., the daughter of Carl A. and Agnes (Johnson) Magnuson. She was raised in Brookline and was a graduate of Brookline High School and was a member of Kappa Sigma Phi Sorority. She later moved to Chelmsford, Mass. where she lived for many years. In the late 1970”s, she and her husband moved to the family summer home on Newfound Lake in Bristol. She had been a resident of Belmont. NH for the past ten years.
Mrs. Sharpe was employed at John Hancock in Boston for a number of years and later was employed by the Chelmsford School Lunch Program.
Mrs. Sharpe enjoyed lake activities on Newfound Lake and enjoyed crafts. She was a former member of the Bristol Women’s Club.
Mrs. Sharpe was affectionately known as “Grambo” by her family. Survivors include her son, Richard B. Sharpe, of Dunstable, Mass.; a daughter, Donna L. Waugh, and her husband, Gregory S. Waugh, of Gilford, a daughter-in-law, Kate Sharpe, of Loudon, NH; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Sipprelle, of Nashua and one nephew. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Sharpe was predeceased by a son, Paul F. Sharpe, in 2006 and by a nephew.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 10:00AM-Noon in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at Noon also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Gilford Community Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the family lot in Homeland Cemetery, Bristol, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N. H. 03247.
