Carolyn M. Rhodes

Laconia-----Carolyn M. Rhodes, 83, of 406 Court Street and formerly of Belmont, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, November 1, 2009. She was the widow of James F. Rhodes who died in 1994.

Mrs. Rhodes was born May 6, 1926 in Gloucester, Massachusetts the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Daigle) Silva. She lived in the Laconia/Belmont area for most of her life.

Mrs. Rhodes was a teacher for over thirty years. She taught at Belmont High School, Sacred Heart High School and St. John’s School.

Mrs. Rhodes was a communicant and active member of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.

Survivors include three sons, James F. Rhodes, Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Laconia, Joseph Rhodes and his wife, Susan, of Belmont and Christopher J. Rhodes, also of Belmont; a daughter, Kathleen Connolly and her husband, Steve, of Alabama; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Silva, of Burlington, Vermont and a sister, Connie Perkins, of Centerville, Massachusetts. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by both of her parents.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N.H.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 406 Court, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
