Larry F. Pond

Laconia-----Larry F. Pond, 64, of 268 Holman Street, died at his home on Saturday, November 7, 2009.

Larry was born June 26, 1945 in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Howard F. and Margaret M. (Walton) Pond.

Larry served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been a resident of Laconia since 1971. He started his police career in Tilton and in 1971 he became a police officer with the Laconia Police Department, retiring as Captain in 1988. He was presently employed by Evergreen Management, Inc., and formerly had been employed by the U. S. Marshall Service and Homeland Security.

Larry was a Mason and also a Shriner. He enjoyed woodworking, the ocean and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen (Labonne) Bieniarz-Pond, of Laconia; a son, Adam Pond, and his wife, Cindy, of Fort Walton, Florida; a daughter, Kathy Clark, of Fort Walton, Florida; a step-son, Matthew Bieniarz, and his wife, Chastity, of Danielson, Conn; a step-daughter, Amy Ferguson, and her husband, Chad, of Winter Garden, Florida; eleven grandchildren; his mother, Margaret M. Pond, of Goffstown; a sister, Carol Shaw, of Milford, N.H.; several nephews and nieces and his beloved dog, “Manny”. He was predeceased by his father, Howard F. Pond.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia N.H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Laconia Congregational Church 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, N. H. Rev. Dr. Warren Bouton, pastor of the church, will officiate.

Burial will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rte 3, Boscawen, N.H. on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, N.H. 03101.
