Gerald P. Girard

Laconia-----Gerald P. Girard, 61, of 24 Cleveland Place, died at his home early Monday, November 16, 2009 after a courageous thirteen month battle with cancer.

Gerald was born May 5, 1948 in Manchester, the son of Roger and Lorrette (Boisvert) Girard. He had been a resident of Laconia for the past twenty years coming from Manchester. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Gerald was employed as a foreman for Mills Industries for forty six years retiring in 2008. He was a life member of the Laconia Rod and Gun Club and the American Legion Post #1 in Laconia. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going to the beach.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Ellie (Twarog) Girard, of Laconia; a son, Jeff Girard, of Berlin; two daughters, Kim (Girard) Bouchard, and her husband, Kevin, of Manchester and, Tammy Girard, of Laconia; eight grandchildren, Tim Bouchard, Missy Girard, Kevin P. Bouchard, Paul Dunham, Kristian Brown, Brandon Brown, Mika Brown and Kyle Bouchard; three great grandchildren; Brandie Gauthier, Jacob Bouchard, Davin Gauthier; many brother and sisters and many nephews and nieces; close friends; Robert Lampron and Roger Gagne. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday November 20, 2009 at 11:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Two Commerce Drive, Suite 110 Bedford, NH 03110 or the New Hampshire Humane Society PO Box 572 Laconia, NH 03247.
