Laconia-----Robert O. Marquis, 61, of 261 Gilford Avenue, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

Mr. Marquis was born September 28, 1947 in Nashua, the son of Oscar ‘Pete” and Armance (Legasse) Marquis.

Mr. Marquis was raised in Nashua and moved to Laconia thirty years ago. He worked for the natural gas company, National Grid, for over thirty years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycling, water skiing and snow skiing. Known for his quick wit and love of family, he will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. He was admired by his many in-laws and coworkers.

Mr. Marquis is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Jean Marquis, of Laconia; six children and their families, Lisa Giguere of Laconia, Eric Marquis of Belmont, Aimee Joyner of Elm City, North Carolina, Trisha Tucker of Sarasota, Florida, Sarah-Jane Patten of Sarasota, Florida and David Patten of Claremont; eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild; his sister, Ceille Bird, of Merrimack, N. H. and two brothers, Maurice Marquis and Ronald Marquis, both of Nashua; many nephews, nieces and coworkers and his Mastiff, Harley.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 1:00-2:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Memorial Service will follow the calling hour at 2:00PM also at the Funeral Home.
