Gilford, N.H.-----Kenneth W. Lent, Jr., 76, of 6 Colonial Drive, died in the presence of his loving family at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, November 1, 2008.

Mr. Lent was born May 4, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Gail (Melvin) and Kenneth W. Lent, Sr.

Mr. Lent graduated from Syracuse University in 1954 with a B.S. in Business and served as an officer in the U. S. Air Force from 1954-1957.

Mr. Lent resided in Douglaston, Long Island, N.Y. for many years and raised his three children in New Hartford, N.Y. He later moved to Manchester, N.H. before moving to Gilford. Mr. Lent was employed as a stock broker for Smith Barney for twenty-two years before retiring in December, 1998.
Mr. Lent was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church and a former member of the Brookside Congregational Church, Manchester, N.H.

Mr. Lent is survived by his wife, Eileen (Rooney) Lent, of Gilford; two sons, Scott Lent of Liverpool, N.Y. and Gary Lent of Rancho Cuca Monga, Calif.; a daughter, Tracy Lent-Anderson, of Bellevue, Wash.; a stepson, David Farnham, of Manchester, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Linda Rowell, of Essex Jct., Vermont and Terri Lucero of Escondido, Calif. and two grandchildren, Daniel Lent of Riverside, Calif. and Nicole Lent of Waterville, N.Y.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 2:00PM. Rev. Dr. Warren Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Brattleboro, Vermont at a later date.
