Adrienne (Blain) Powers Bryant

Laconia-----Adrienne (Blain) Powers Bryant, 96, of 30 South St., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Mrs. Bryant was born March 9, 1912 in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of   Olivier and Exilda (Laprise) Blain.

Mrs. Bryant moved to Keene at the age of 2 and graduated from Keene High School in 1929.  She lived in Bellows Falls, Vermont from 1935-1942 and then in Springfield, Vermont from 1942-1948.  In 1948, she moved to Alton where she and her husband John owned and operated Powers Neighborhood Store.  She spent many years working as a unit secretary at the Lakes Region General Hospital.  In 1986, Adrienne moved to Laconia where she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by two daughters, Jean Powers Aberg, of Gilford and Teresa Powers Murphy of North Attleboro, Mass., a stepson, Frank Bryant, of Forestdale, Mass.; five grandchildren, Susan Peirson of Coral Springs, Florida, Nancy Locke of Denver, Colorado, Andrew Locke of  Orford, NH; Mary Murphy of Attleboro, MA. and Christopher Murphy of Medfield, MA; three great grandchildren, Clara Locke and Addison Locke both of New Hampshire and Samuel Peirson of Florida. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Powers, in 1975 and by her second husband, Herbert Bryant, in 1983.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will be in the family lot in New Riverside Cemetery, Alton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH.
