Laconia-----Mary H. Blackey, 84, of 237 Baldwin St., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, November 26, 2006.

Mrs. Blackey was born January 13, 1922 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Paquette) Patten.

Mrs. Blackey was a  lifetime resident of Laconia.  She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was employed at Laconia Needle Manufacturing Co., Inc. for twenty years before retiring in 1974.

Mrs. Blackey was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  She loved her family and enjoyed arts and crafts, the out-of-doors, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating and was an avid bowler.

Survivors include her husband, Lester E. Blackey, of Belmont; two sons, Ronald Blackey of Laconia and Robert Maheux of  Belmont; three daughters, Beverly Blackey Rogers of Cimaron, NM, Constance Blackey Rodriguez of Aztec, NM and Cheryl Blackey of Albuquerque, NM; nineteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur Patten of Maine, Robert Patten of Hollywood, Florida and Lionel Patten of Manchester; two sisters, Janet Patten and Gloria Patten and many nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth Maheux and James Blackey; by a grandson, Michael Maheux, and by two brothers, her twin, Hector “Pat” Patten, and Roger Patten.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 No. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
