Laconia-----Melodie L. Deane, 44, of 103 Blueberry Lane, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, November 5, 2003.

Miss Deane was born December 24, 1958 in Washington, D.C. the daughter of Frederic H. & Nena M. (Goody) Deane.

In 1978, Miss Deane graduated from Washington & Lee High School, in Arlington, VA. She was a member of the National Honor Society and played many musical instruments. She was a gifted artist and graduated from the Career Center for Art, Arlington, VA. in 1980. Miss Deane moved to Laconia a month ago.

Survivors include her mother, Nena Deane of Laconia, NH; a brother Kenneth H. Deane of Burlington, N. C.; two sisters, Barbara E. Plummer of Belmont, NH and Sarah S. E. Deane of Silver Spring, MD; two nephews and many great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by her father, Frederick Deane in 1978 and by three brothers, Lowin Deane, David Deane and Raymond Deane.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2003 at 7:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. William Mann of the Laconia Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
