Lyn F. Newell

Gilford-----Lyn F. Newell, 51, of 92 Cotton Hill Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday, November 9, 2002.

Mr. Newell was born May 23, 1951 in Rochester, NH, the son of Donald F. and Beverly (Anderson) Newell.

Mr. Newell had lived most of his life in the Lakes Region and was a graduate of Laconia High School, Class of 1969 where he played football After high school, he continued playing football and hockey. He lived in Camarillo, California for a number of years in the early 1970's.

He was a job supervisor for Charwell Construction Inc. for a number of years and also was a self-employed contractor. He later was employed at Kardinal Blueberry Farm and also was employed for seven years by the CART racing.

Mr. Newell was a former president of the Lakes Region Sled Dog Club and was a member of the Board of Directors at the time of his death. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the out of doors. He also enjoyed NASCAR and Indy Car Racing.

Survivors include his parents of Laconia; two daughters, Julie A. Guarente of Concord, NH and Jolene M. Price of Barnstead, NH; a grandson, Nicholas Guarente of Concord; his fiancé, Christine Harris of Gilford and her son, Jay Harris of London, England; two brothers, Peter D. Newell and Michael A. Newell both of Laconia, NH; a sister, Susan Montmagny of Grantham, NH; two nephews and two nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Jerry Newell, in 1973.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at his home, 92 Cotton Hill Road, Gilford, NH on Sunday, November 17, 2002 from 3:00-6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakes Region Sled Dog Club, PO Box 382, Laconia, NH 03247.
