Wilbur James Lounsbury

Gilford--------Wilbur James Lounsbury, 70, of 344 Old Lakeshore Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, November 7, 2002.

Mr. Lounsbury was born September 8, 1932, in Saratoga Springs, New York, the son of Wilbur J. and Sarah (Saunders) Lounsbury.

Mr. Lounsbury graduated from Laconia High School, Class of 1950 and spent four years with the Air Force. He also lived in Salem and Gilmanton Iron Works before moving to Gilford, NH. He worked as a supervisor at the Laconia State School until he retired. He formerly had been employed at Cormier Hosiery and Raytheon. He loved his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed cooking.

Mr. Lounsbury was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laconia-Gilford.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Horne) Lounsbury of Gilford; three sons, Robin Lounsbury of Tilton, NH, Michael Lounsbury of Missouri and John Lounsbury of Concord; two daughters, Cindy Testa of North Haven, Connecticut and Deborah Baron of Chichester, NH; four stepchildren, David Bragg of Florida, Paul Bragg of Tilton, NH, and Dori Cote and Darleen Turner both of Gilford, NH; many grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ira Lounsbury of Tilton, in 1996.

According to Mr. Lounsbury's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central NH Kidney Center, 87 Spring Street, Laconia, NH 03246
