Evert E. Guldemond

Portsmouth, RI————Evert E. Guldemond, 79, of 397 Wapping Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH on Monday, May 6, 2002. Mr. Guldemond was the widower of Jean (Reise) Guldemond who died March 9, 2002.

Mr. Guldemond was born August 22, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Martin and Leah (Evans) Guldemond. He lived most of his life in Rhode Island and was a self-employed nurseryman.

Mr. Guldemond served in the U. S. Army during WWII and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a life member of the N. R. A., was a member of the Rhode Island Nursery Association and the New England Nursery Association.

Survivors include his son, Paul Guldemond, of Laconia, NH; a daughter, Tina Guldemond, of Middletown, Rhode Island; three grandsons; a sister, Marthina Smith, of Middlebury, Vermont; and two nieces and three nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Broadway, Newport, Rhode Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, N. H. Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the local arrangements.
