Gail B. Watson

Belmont——-Mr. Gail B. Watson, 78, of 30 Watson Road, died in Laconia on Tuesday, May 21, 2002. He was the widower of Margery Webster Watson who died in 1976.

Mr. Watson was born August 2, 1923 in Gerrish, NH, the son of Lyle and Margaret (Badger) Watson. He graduated from Mt. Hermon School in Northfield, MA and attended the University of New Hampshire. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Watson lived in Laconia from 1950-1976. He then moved to Belmont to live on the farm that his family has owned since 1791.

During his early adult life, Mr. Watson was a staff photographer for the Laconia Citizen. He was a civil engineer for many years, working for the State of New Hampshire. After his retirement in 1985, he raised Angus cattle and Christmas trees. He was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers and a member of the National Tree Farm Association.

Survivors include a son, Joseph B. Watson, of Laconia; a daughter, Ann W. Massingham of Dover, NH; 9 grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Fowlston of Lakeland, Tennessee; and several nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2002 from 7-9 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Rev. Rodney Collins, pastor of the Grace Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH
