Lawrence F. McVey

Eagle Bridge, New York——-Lawrence F. McVey, 80, of 37 Shaker Hollow Road, died at the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, New York on Tuesday, May 7, 2002. He was the widower of Alice M. (Lavoie) McVey.

Mr. McVey was born February 6, 1922 in Boston, MA, the son of Fred G. and Julia (Sullivan) McVey. He lived in Boston, MA for many years before moving to Cambridge, New York, 20 years ago.

Mr. McVey served in the Merchant Marines. He was a finish mason for over 50 years, retiring in 1981. He liked bowling and dancing and wrote many poems.

Survivors include two sons, Fred G. McVey of Gilmanton, NH and John J. McVey of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Alice M. Johnson of Lowell, MA and Nancy A. Pratt of Belmont, NH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one nephew and two nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Lawrence F. McVey, and
by a sister, Patricia Brennan.

Calling hours will be held on Friday May 10, 2002 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM using the Carriage House entrance at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday May 11, 2002 at 10:30 AM in the family lot at South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, Central Processing Center, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
