Arthur J. Edminston

New Hampton-----Arthur J. Edmiston, 84, of 661 Coolidge Woods Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, March 20, 2007.

Mr. Edmiston was born March 1, 1923 in New York City, NY, the son of Arthur J. and Gladys J. (Mason) Edmiston.

Mr. Edmiston lived in Weare for many years and was married in 1942.  He later moved in 1959 to Londonderry to raise his family and retired to New Hampton in 1985.

Mr. Edmiston was employed as a machinist for Raytheon for 40 years.  He was a member of the Londonderry Fire Department for twelve years.  Mr. Edmiston served in the US Navy during WWII.  He had a great passion for the trade of woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, of 64 years, Vitella A. (Ilsley) Edmiston;  four sons, Arthur J. Edmiston, Jr., Ronald L. Edmiston, Michael D. Edmiston, Anthony M. Edmiston; four daughters, Vitella A. Brown, Linda M. Poitras, Cherry L. Shattuck, Heather M. Edmiston; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Manchester NH Office, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH, 03101.
