A. Bert Tkach

Gilford----A. Bert Tkach, 66, of 9 Jay Drive, died at his home on Thursday, March 1, 2007.

Mr. Tkach was born May 3, 1940 in Middleboro, Kentucky, the son of the late Andrew and Eldene (Whitaker) Tkach. He lived in Enfield for several years before moving to Gilford thirty-five years ago.

Mr. Tkach was a former principal at the Gilford Elementary School, former Director of the Lakes Region Day Care Center and was employed at the N. H. Department of Health & Human Services for fifteen
years, retiring in 2001. Mr. Tkach was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan. He enjoyed NASCAR and particularly loved his vegetable garden.

Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Nancy (Wirth) Tkach, of Gilford; two sons, Bret A. Tkach and his wife, Kate, of New Hampton, N. H. and Christopher K. Tkach, of Charlestown, Mass. and a brother, Philip W. Tkach, of Franklin, N. H.

There will be no calling hours.

A Private Graveside Service will be held in the spring at the family lot in Hebron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
