Florence N. McCuin

Laconia-----Florence N. McCuin, 92, of 45 Taylor Home Drive, died at her home on Friday, March 31, 2006.

Mrs. McCuin was born October 6, 1913 in Cambridge, VT, the daughter of Victor and Margie (Lumbra) Langdell.

Florence grew up on the farm in Cambridge, Vermont. She rode to school in a horse-drawn buggy or sleigh, as the weather dictated. Kerosene lanterns lit the home. She remembers breaking only one. Her closest friend was her cousin, Mary Langdell. They walked everywhere which became a lifelong pleasure.

Florence married Clifford McCuin October 20, 1931. They moved to Beebe River, NH. Their home was always open to family and friends. Florence was known for her homemade muffins, cookies, pies and bread. Florence enjoyed driving and traveling abroad. She hiked, skied and enjoyed flowers in her garden.

Florence was employed by the Draper Corporation for several years.

She was a member of the Campton Congregational Church, Eastern Star, a Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls, a member of the Campton Women’s Club, Campton Grange, Pemigewasset Fish & Game, Women’s Twilight Golf League, Campton Historical Society and the “Wednesday Walkers”. Two years ago, she moved to the Taylor Community from Holderness.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford J. McCuin, of Laconia; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip O. and Rebecca McCuin, of Thornton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Pauline McCuin Gould and Robert Gould, of Walnut Creek, CA; four grandchildren, Cynthia Gould, Blair Gould, Timothy Howard and Christopher Howard; four great grandchildren; two nieces and eight nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Campton Congregational Church, 495 Rte 175, Campton, NH on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 1:00PM.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Blair Cemetery, Campton, NH.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Campton Congregational Church, PO Box 328, Campton, NH 03223.
