John W. York

Winnfield, Louisiana-------John W. York, 49, of Winnfield, Louisiana and formerly of Laconia, NH. died on Friday, March 21, 2003, in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Mr. York was born May 10, 1953 in Caribou, Maine, the son of Woodrow and Marguerite (Forbes) York.

Mr. York served in the U. S. Army. He work for the City of Laconia Public Works Department and was a volunteer for the Winnisquam Fire Department. Two years ago, Mr. York, moved from Laconia, NH to Louisiana and was employed at D.& J. Tire in Winnfield.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Marden) York of Winnisquam, NH; two sons, Jeremy J. York of Laconia, NH and James M. York of Sanbornton, NH; a daughter, Sara Jeannie York of Winnfield, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Ashley Cote and Alan Cote, both of Laconia, NH; a brother, Sheldon York, of Jacksonville, Florida; a sister, Deanna (York) Morin, of Waterbury, CT; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cori York.

Calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Thursday, March 27, 2003 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and from 6:00PM-8:00PM.

A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 8:00 PM also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to your own favorite charity.
