Conrad P. Teele

Laconia------Conrad P. Teele, 81, of 247 Wellington Drive and formerly of 15 Sprucewood Drive, Gilford died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

Mr. Teele was born December 11, 1921 in Waltham, MA the son of Nicholas and Mildred S. (Dicks) Teele.

Mr. Teele served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He served in the 407th Infantry Regiment overseas for 11 months in England, France, Belguim, Holland, and Germany as a machine gunner and was a member of the light machine gun squad. He was wounded during the war and received the Bronze Star in 2001. He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service in Newtonville, MA for 28 years. After his retirement in 1987, he moved to Gilford, NH and then later moved to Laconia.

Mr. Teele was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport, NH.

Mr. Teele belonged to the Friends of the Gilford Library. He was a life member of the D. A. V. and was a member of the American Legion Wilkins Smith Post #1 in Laconia.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Catherine (Burbank) Teele, of Laconia, NH; two sons, Kenneth H. Teele of Seattle, Washington and Michael J. Teele of New York City, New York; two daughters, Paula Baer and her husband, Robert Baer of Laconia and Catherine M. Baker of Parker, CO; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Avis Connelly of San Antonio, Texas; one nephew and two nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen E. Walsh, in 1989.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, March 21, 2003from 7:00-9:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Gilford Library, c/o Gilford Public Library, 2 Belknap Mt. Road, Gilford, NH 03249.
