Eleanor (Merritt) Swan

Moultonboro-----Mrs. Eleanor (Merritt) Swan, 87, of 47 Swan Point Road, died at her son&Mac226;s home in Moultonboro, NH on Monday, March 3, 2003. She was the widow of Roland W. Swan who died November 2, 2002.

Mrs. Swan was born February 24, 1916 in Chelsea, MA, the daughter of Waldo B. and Minnie E. (Young) Merritt. She lived in Melrose, MA for a number of years before moving to Moultonboro, NH in 1981.

Mrs. Swan graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music and was an accomplished organist and soloist. She sang Gospel Music on the radio and sang in the Boston, MA area.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Roland Swan of Derry, NH and Gordon M. Swan of Moultonboro, NH; a daughter, Nancy Swan Dwyer of Harvey, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Waldo E. Merritt of Reading. MA; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one great granddaughter, Anastasia D. Kelleher, in 1994.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 7, 2003 from 6-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Center Harbor Christian Church, 88 Bean Road, Center Harbor, NH. Rev. Robert Farrah, Pastor of the church, will officiate.

Spring Burial will be in the family lot in Holland Hill Cemetery, Moultonboro, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Center Harbor Christian Church, PO Box 927, Center Harbor, NH 03226 or to the Gideon's International Association of NH, c/o Herbert Otto, PO Box 474, Plymouth, NH 03264.
