James R. Blackie, Sr.

Gilford, NH-----James R. Blackie, Sr., 77, of 28 Upland Drive, died at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH on Monday, March 10, 2003.

Mr. Blackie was born February 8, 1926 in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of David R. and Ruth C. (Parmelee) Blackie.

Mr. Blackie was a longtime resident of Hamden, CT, moving to Gilford, NH. in 2001. He graduated from Hamden High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Beaver Pond Machine Co. for 47 years. He was a former member of the West Haven Italian-American Civic Association.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Barbara Blackie, of Gilford, NH; two grandchildren, Alexandria Jean Blackie and James „Jamie‰ Ramsey Blackie III, both of Gilford, NH; a sister-in-law, Louise Pacelli, of Hamden, CT and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret J. (Marro) Blackie.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH

A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 Morrill Street, Gilford, NH on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Richard McDonough will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot in Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, New Haven, CT.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
