Belmont-----Elizabeth “Betty” B. Jewett, 82, of 367 South Road, died at her home on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. 

         Mrs. Jewett was born June 13, 1925 in Laconia, the daughter of Francis David and Maybelle (Lamper) Marden.

Mrs. Jewett was a lifelong resident of Belmont.  She was employed at Cormier Hosiery for many years and was also employed at the Laconia State School for fifteen years.

Mrs. Jewett was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church.  She enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, going to the ocean, sunbathing, camping and traveling to her home in Florida.

         Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Marden and Carroll and Madeline Marden all of Belmont; a sister, Caroline Vernal, of Rochester, N.H.; three nieces; ten nephews and a grandniece, Deborah Matson, with whom she resided in Tennessee.  Mrs. Jewett was predeceased by her husband, Carl Jewett, in 2004; by a sister, Dorothy Flanders, and by a nephew, Jeff Marden.

         A Calling hour will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 10:00-11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

         A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home.  Rev. John Davies, Community Health & Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.

         Burial will follow in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, N.H.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
