Laconia------George F. Brough, 83, of 218A Highland Street died at the Epsom Healthcare Center, Epsom, NH on Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

Mr. Brough was born May 28, 1925 in Laconia, N.H., the son of Eva C. (Delisle) and Earl J. Brough, Sr. 

Mr. Brough was a life long resident of Laconia and was employed at Pike Industries for twenty-three years, retiring in 1992.

Mr. Brough served in the U. S Marines and was wounded during the assault on Iwo Jima.  He was a member of D.A.V and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing and any outdoor activities. 

Survivors include his wife, Therese M. (Phillips) Brough, of Laconia; three sons, Steven R. Brough of Laconia, Donald R. Brough of Wilmington, Mass. and David W. Brough of Dover; nine grandchildren, Chris, Heidi, Katie, Erica, Nick, Julia, Katharine, Matthew and Allison; four great grandchildren, Keslie, Ryan, Adam and Brett and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Brough was predeceased by three brothers, Norman Brough in 1999, E. James Brough, Jr. in 1997 and Robert Brough in 1996, by a sister, Pauline Woodruff, in 1975 and by a son, Ronald P. Brough, in 2003.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N.H.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, N. H. Office, One Bedford Farms Drive Suite 105, Bedford, N.H. 03110.
