John F. Heinis

Send a condolence note

Laconia----John F. Heinis, 85, of Laconia, NH and formerly of Englewood, FL faded from our lives on Friday, June 22, 2007 while enjoying the weekend at his favorite location, the family camp of his nephew, Roland DeLucca, on Eastern Corner Road, Campton, NH.  He was born March 4, 1922 in Pittsfield, NH, the son of the late Louis A. & Florence (Smith) Heinis.

Alert and energetic to the end, he enjoyed “four wheeling” on his ATV, photographing wildlife.  “Papa” swelled with pride when boasting of his family and his prolific garden.

He graduated from Laconia High School Class of 1940. He enlisted with the US Army Air Corps of Engineers in 1942 and served in the European theater in WW II.

“Uncle John” owned and operated John Heinis Earth Moving for 20 years prior to moving to Englewood, FL in 1978. He joined Venice Land Clearing in 1979 as an engineer and heavy equipment operator. He retired at age 82 in 2004.

“Pup” is survived by a sister, Alice “Joy” Heinis, of Laconia, NH; three children & spouses: John A Heinis of Franklin, NH, Richard C. & Melanie Heinis of Laconia, NH and Gail L (Heinis) & Earl Mihali of North Port, Florida; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

“Papa” was predeceased by “Nana”, his high school sweetheart Agnes E. (Grant) Heinis. They were married 57 years prior to Mom’s passage on August 12, 1998.

At Dad’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral service.

A memorial celebration of his life and his unconditional love to his family and friends is planned for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Wilkinson–Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH.
