Sylvia Mary Swift

Gilford – Sylvia Mary Swift, 63, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Laconia, February 12, 1943, Mrs. Swift was the daughter of Ansel H. and Bertha (Morin) Bernier. A lifelong resident of Gilford, she graduated from
Laconia High School and received an Associates Degree in Business from Pierce College for Women in Concord.

Mrs. Swift worked as a medical secretary for a number of years at New Hampshire Hospital in Concord. She then served as the administrative assistant for the Multiple Listing Service of the Lakes Region Board of Realtors. Mrs. Swift finished her career performing accounting and human resources work for the Tilton Ford Automobile Dealership.

Mrs. Swift was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport where she also was a member of the Ladies Guild. She volunteered at the New to You Shop at the Church and at the Lakes Region General Hospital. She enjoyed reading, hiking, and bird watching and loved to spend time with her three grandchildren.

Mrs. Swift is survived by a large and loving family including her husband of 39 years, Michael Swift of Gilford; her brother, Gary Bernier, of Wilmot, NH; her daughter, Michelle Heath, and husband, Dan, of Walpole, NH; her son, Anthony Swift, and wife, Samantha, of Waterboro, ME; her grandchildren, Evan, Emily, and William; her nephew, Jeremy Bernier, of New Orleans, LA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Community Health & Hospice, Dr. Ronald Witkin, Dr. James Rigas, Dr. Mohit Kasibhatla, and Dr. Camilo Fadul. They are especially grateful to the staff and members of the LRGHealthcare Community Wellness Center and the Lakes Region General Hospital Cancer Support Group for their kindness and friendship over the years.

Friends may call at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia from 5:00-8:00PM on Sunday, July 2, 2006,

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, July 3, 2006 at Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
