Belmont-----Richard A. Martin, 82, formerly of School Street, Belmont, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, June 21, 2006.

Mr. Martin was born December 25, 1923 in Berwick, Maine, the son of Adolphe and Mary (Rollins) Martin. Mr. Martin lived most of his life in Belmont. He was a logger and was also employed at Laconia Malleable Iron Co. for many years.

Mr. Martin was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.

Survivors include a son, Earl Sweeney, of Belmont; a daughter, Juanita Lavature, of Chester, MA; six grandchildren, Sara Longulocco, Nadia Boris, Adalbert Lavature, Jr., Kody Lavature, Michael Sweeney and Merry Jefferys; a brother, Frank Martin, of East Rochester, NH and several nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Cleo (Ellsworth) Martin in 1992.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006 from 11:00AM-Noon in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the calling hour at 12:30PM at St. Joseph Parish, Belmont, NH.

Burial will follow in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Genesis Eldercare Network–Laconia Center, Resident Activity Fund, 175 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, NH 03246.
