Margaret H. Tuson

Gilford-----Margaret H. Tuson of 2761 Lake Shore Road, Gilford, NH died June 25, 2006 at the St. Francis Home in Laconia, NH after a long illness.

Margaret was born April 21, 1922 in New York City, the only child of John and Margaret (Dezsio) Heiss.

She was a graduate of Evander Childs High School and graduated from Payne Hall School, New York City as a medical technician.  During World War II Margaret served as the Assistant to the Medical Director of the War Shipping Medical Center in New York City. After her marriage on April 30, 1947, she raised three children.  Margaret served in volunteer activities with the Cleveland Ohio League of Women Voters, Environmental Organizations Sudbury Massachusetts Nuclear Freeze Committee and Chairman of the Sudbury Congregational Church Social Concerns Committee and many others. She was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church, Laconia.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald B. Tuson of Gilford, sons Donald B. Tuson, Jr. of Binghampton, New York and Geoffrey B. Tuson of Somers, New York daughter June Tuson Dufford of Park City, Utah, and five granddaughters and one grandson.

After cremation, burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford, NH.  Based upon Margaret’s expressed wishes, there will be no funeral services, only a short prayer service at the graveside. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
