Laconia------Mrs. Eileen M. Roy, 76, of 20 Winnicoash St., died at the St. Francis Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2003.

Mrs. Roy was born August 10, 1926 in Manchester, NH, the daughter of James and Edith M. (Jeffries) McCaffrey. She lived in Lincoln, NH for several years before moving to Laconia 48 years ago.

Mrs. Roy graduated from Keene State College and was an elementary school teacher for thirty-five years. She taught in the Laconia School District, retiring from Pleasant Street School in 1993.

Mrs. Roy was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a member of the Ladies' Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association; a past member of the Laconia Country Club; a past member of the N. H. Women's Golf Association; and a volunteer for the New To You Shop at Our Lady of the Lakes Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Phillip M. Roy, of Laconia, NH; a daughter, Dale A. Nims, and her husband, David, of Laconia, NH; three sons, Dana A. Roy, of North Hampton, NH and his fiancée, Joane Hendy, Kevin P. Roy and his wife, Rozlyn, of Gilford, NH and Thomas J. Roy, and his wife, Kristen, of Tecumseh, Michigan; five grandchildren, Kelsey Nims, Carly Roy, Adam Roy, Kayla Roy, and Johnathon Wiese; a brother, Joseph McCaffrey and his wife Mary, of N.C.; a sister, Joleen Hammel, and her husband, Lennie, of Rumney; four nieces and three nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Keith Michael Roy, in June, 1959.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 6:00-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be at 3:00PM in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eileen M. Roy Memorial Scholarship c/o the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 7312, Gilford, NH 03247-7312.
