Laconia------Mrs. Mary E. Leonard, 80, of 258 North Street, Lakeport died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, June 10, 2003. She was the widow of Allan J. Leonard who died in 1985.

Mrs. Leonard was born February 27, 1923 in Ashuelot, NH. She moved to Lakeport in 1946 and was employed for many years at the Barberry Knitting Mills.

Mrs. Leonard was a member of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport for over 50 years and was a past president of the Ready for Service Club. She was past Noble Grand of the Esther Rebekah Lodge #9 and held the office of Outside Guardian in the Rebekah Assembly and was a past president of the Washington Street Elementary School P.T.A.

Survivors include three sons, John "Jack" A. Leonard and his wife, Bonnie, of Belmont, Bruce A. Leonard and his wife, Diane, of Ashland and Frank E. Leonard and his wife, Katie, of Meredith, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2003 at 11:00AM at the family lot at Bayside Cemetery. Rev. Sharron Lamothe, Pastor of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport, will officiate

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Baptist Church of Lakeport, 23-35 Park Street, Lakeport, NH 03246.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
