Laconia----Mrs. Mary L. Darling, 86, of 765 Union Avenue, Lakeport, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the Lakes Region General Hospital. She was the widow of Glenwood E. Darling who died in 1989.

Mrs. Darling was born April 28, 1917 in Wakefield, MA the daughter of Adam and Marcella (Blazus) Lan.

Mrs. Darling lived in Gilford, NH for a number of years before moving to Lakeport five years ago. She was employed at the Globe Department Store in Gilford for several years.

Mrs. Darling was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church and a former member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of the Friendship Club in Laconia and she enjoyed painting and playing the violin and organ.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol J. Darling, of Manchester, NH; three grandsons, Mark Morrissette and Aaron Morrissette, both of Goffstown, NH and Keith Morrissette of Manchester, NH; five great grandchildren; a brother, John Lann, of Massachusetts; a sister, Stella Sweeney, of Florida and one niece and one nephew. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Frank T. Darling, by a brother, Milton Lan, and by a sister, Julie Novello.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2003 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH. Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 N. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
