Christine M. Fournier

Laconia, NH------Christine M. Fournier, 59, of 345 Elm Street, died January 22, 2007, at Lakes Region General Hospital after a courageous 3 month battle with cancer. She was born on June 5, 1947 to Robert J. and Claire A. (Vallee) Laflamme.

Chris was educated in Manchester, NH, graduating from St. Anthony’s High School in 1965. There, in Manchester she met and married her husband of 37 years, Chuck, in 1969 and resided in Manchester for a time, then Merrimack, NH, ultimately moving to Laconia in 1983, her current home, all the while being lovingly supportive of her husband’s 35 year career with UPS. Chris attended NH Voc. Tech. and the University System of NH furthering her education in accounting, Business Management and Computers.

She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career and was employed in Manchester by Evangeline Shoe, Kennedy Clothiers, and the law firm of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass and Green, P.A. as full charge Bookkeeper. After moving to Laconia in 1983, she was employed by Lewis & Saunders as Senior Accounting Supervisor, the Taylor Retirement Community and ultimately at Gilford Village Bank, now Laconia Savings Bank for 7 years as a Bank Service Representative where she established a wonderful relationship with co-workers and customers alike. She was an avid book reader, loved sewing, camping and long walks with her Jack Russell Terriers. In her younger years she enjoyed singing and playing guitar with a life long friend. Chris will always be remembered for her quiet and gentle nature, her quick wit and infectious smile and eagerness to help everyone.

Though never blessed with children of her own, she loved her family and close friends and acquaintances and especially cherished her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed. Chris was pre-deceased by both her parents, her older sister, Anne-Marie Bellemare, and younger sister, Denise Moquin.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck, sisters, Paulette (Laflamme) Bourgeois, Maddy (Laflamme) D’Amour and several cherished nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, along with many close and lifelong friends.

In keeping with Chris’ wishes, there are no calling hours, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03247 and the N. H. Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Chris’ life will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:00AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the spring at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
