Kenneth R. Flanders

Laconia-----Kenneth R. Flanders, 90, of 134 Daisy Gardner Road, died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton on Monday, January 29, 2007.

Mr. Flanders was born October 2, 1916 in Alton, NH, the son of Rosco and Bertha May Flanders.  He lived in Belknap County all of his life and was employed at Allen-Rogers, Laconia for forty years, retiring in October, 1981.

Mr. Flanders served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. 

Mr. Flanders was a member of the Elks and a former member of the VFW and the IOOF.  He loved gardening and shared his land with people that wanted to plant gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Laura (Mittan) Flanders, of Laconia; a daughter, Claudia L. Wright, of Laconia; three grandchildren, Dennis Wright and his wife, Lin, Dawn Gilbert and her husband, “Chip” and Stephanie Flanders all of Laconia; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Kimball, of Laconia; eight nephews and a half-sister, Penny Martel, of Laconia.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Thomas R. Flanders, December 9, 1998 and by three brothers, Wilson Flanders, Harold Flanders and Bernard Flanders.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 10:00-11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Laconia Congregational Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH 03246 or to the New Hampshire Veterans Home Activities Fund, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH 03276.
