William Wallace Davis

Laconia, NH---William Wallace Davis passed away on January 21, 2007. Born January 9, 1924 in Winchester, MA, Wally started his education in Reading, MA, moving to Westborough in ninth grade.  He was president of his graduating class at Westborough High School in 1941 and attended Northeastern and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy where he graduated in 1950.  As a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps, he served on Guam during WWII as a mapmaker.  After working as a pharmacist in Medfield, MA, as well as Westborough for 12 years, Wallace joined his father Malcolm at Davis Insurance Agency in Westborough where he remained as insurance broker and owner for 24 years.  He and his wife of almost 60 years, Elisabeth, retired to Laconia, NH, in 1988. Wally was an endowed member of Richardson Masonic Lodge in Richardson, Texas and was a long-time member of Rotary International.  He was also a Trustee of Westborough Savings Bank, a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Westborough, and a Notary Public.  Wallace and Elisabeth loved to travel, and they criss-crossed the United States as well as Europe many times.  He enjoyed skiing, he golfed a bit, and he could fix just about anything he put his mind to. Preceding him in death were his sister, Barbara Laliberte, and his parents Blanche and Malcolm Davis.  Wally is survived by his brother-in-law Normand Laliberte, nieces Judy Billings, Janet Nolen, and Joanne Laliberte, his wife Elisabeth, children Nancy Mills and her husband Earl, Betsy Davis and her husband Ned Ellsworth, Linda Davis Amsden, Jeffrey Davis and his wife Bonnie Kudlicki, and grandchildren Mariah and Seth Amsden. Patient, kind, resourceful, hard working, intelligent, and a loving father and husband, Wallace touched the lives of so many and earned the respect of all.  He will be greatly missed.
