Kirkman James Cassavaugh, Sr.

Belmont------Kirkman James Cassavaugh, Sr., 75, of 215 Horne Road died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, January 31, 2007.

 Mr. Cassavaugh was born June 10, 1931 in Gilford, NH the son of the late Bernice (Dow) and Nelson P. Cassavaugh, Sr.   

Mr. Cassavaugh attended the Laconia schools and served in the U. S. Marine Corps in Korea from 1952-1954.  Mr. Cassavaugh worked for Coca Cola Co. in Laconia and Belmont for forty-eight years.

Mr. Cassavaugh was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge # 32.

Mr. Cassavaugh was a devoted husband and father.  His family was very important to him.  He loved animals and enjoyed watching wildlife in his back field.  He enjoyed sharing time with family and friends, camping with the RV, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Shirley (Pettazoni) Cassavaugh, of Belmont; a son, Kirkman J. Cassavaugh, Jr., of Palm Bay, Florida; a daughter, Cindy Cassavaugh, and her fiancé, Lenny Leonard, of Belmont; a daughter-in-law, Terri Chase, of Concord; seven grandchildren, Kirkman Cassavaugh III and Chad Laurent and Cale Laurent all of Belmont, Evan Cassavaugh, Elisca Cassavaugh and  Eowyn Cassavaugh all of New Boston and Dylan Cassavaugh of Palm Bay, Florida; a great grandson, Kameron Cassavaugh of  Maryland; four brothers, Nelson Cassavaugh, Jr. of Laconia, Wayne Cassavaugh of Sanbornton and Florida, Clifford  Cassavaugh of Concord and Terry Cassavaugh of Epsom; five sisters, Priscilla Wells of Lee, Sandra Bolduc and Sheila Haven both of Laconia, Marsha Byars, of Miami, Florida and Pamela Beaudoin of Belmont.  He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Raymond Cassavaugh and Eugene Cassavaugh and by a sister, Gail Bartlett.

 A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 5, 2007 from 10:00-1l:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. 

A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parish, Pastor the United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
