Arnold G. Rollins, Jr.

Laconia---Arnold G. Rollins, Jr., 71, of 223 Lynnewood Road, died at his home on January 2, 2006.

Mr. Rollins was born May 27, 1934 in Laconia, NH, the son of Nerada (Burke) and Arnold G. Rollins, Sr. Mr. Rollins was a lifelong resident of Laconia. He graduated from Laconia High School and served in the U. S. Army. He was a mason for over thirty-five years and retired from Mas-Con in 1997. For the last two years, he worked for Eastcoast Teardrops. Mr. Rollins was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He volunteered as an assistant coach for the Laconia Little League, the Laconia Babe Ruth and the Youth Hockey program and used his masonry skills to help Boy Scout earn his Eagle Badge.

Mr. Rollins enjoyed woodworking and oil painting and especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren at all the sports they participated in. He enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed the annual vacations spent with the entire family. His family was his pride and joy. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Betsy (Caldon) Rollins, of Laconia; three sons, James Rollins and his friend, Lisa Tilton, of Rochester, Scott Rollins and his wife, Lori, of Athol, MA and Todd Rollins and his wife, Rachael, of Laconia; four grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan of Athol and Evan and Brody of Laconia; a sister, Betty Gonyer, of Lochmere and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and his aunt and uncle Simone and Clayton Burke.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2006 from 6-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Thursday January 5, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church will be the celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Gail Singer Memorial Building 360 State Rt. 101 Suite 501 Bedford, NH 03101.
