Jean J. Mylett

Laconia, NH-----Mrs. Jean J. Mylett, 78, of 41 Elizabeth Terrace and formerly of Prescott Avenue, Weirs Beach, died Sunday, January, 4, 2004 at her home.

Mrs. Mylett was born August 2, 1925 in S. Boston, MA, the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Volks) Kearney. She was a graduate of the Gate of Heaven High School (So. Boston, MA) and attended Katherine Gibbs Business School in Boston, MA. She lived in Weymouth, MA for many years before moving to Laconia thirty-five years ago.

Mrs. Mylett was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church.

Mrs. Mylett is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward J. Mylett of Laconia, NH; a son, Edward J. Mylett, Jr. and his wife, Deborah Mylett, of Chino Hills, California; five daughters, Jean M. McLean and her husband, Donald P. McLean of Whitman, MA, Therese M. Mylett, Karen M. Switzer and her husband, John C. Switzer, Mary L. Legassie and her husband, Raymond P. Legassie and Alice M. Cormier and her husband, Joseph R. Cormier all of Laconia, NH; a daughter-in-law, Mary F. Mylett of Duxbury, MA; fifteen grandchildren; Edward J. Mylett, Michele Schloeman, Andrea Ward, and Erica Stewart all of California, Michael Mylett, Kelly Mylett, Patrick Mylett, Peter McLean and Kathryn McLean all of Massachusetts and Lisa Switzer, Andrew Switzer, Shane Legassie, Paige L. Legassie, Joseph Cormier and Emily Cormier all of New Hampshire; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Marion Bergson of Maine; three nieces and four nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael W. Mylett, who died in 1997; a sister, Joan Schendel; a brother, William Kearney, and a nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 from 3-7 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH on Wednesday January 7, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Carmelite Sisters, 61 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Boston, MA 02119.
