Dorothey A. Harris

Laconia, NH--------Mrs. Dorothy A. Harris, 96, of 20 O'Shea Lane and Hollywood, Florida died at the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday, January 17, 2004. Mrs. Harris was the widow of Norman H. Harris, Sr. who died in 1973.

Mrs. Harris was born January 20, 1907 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the daughter of John and Mary A. Hodgert. She graduated from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, R. I. for many years. She was a member of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Mrs. Harris was a very active member of the Chichester (NH) Congregational Church. She was a member of the Chichester P.T.A. and was a volunteer at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.

Mrs. Harris was devoted to her family. She loved to needle point, read, travel, and take cruises.

Survivors include two sons, Harry Vern Harris II and his wife, Ann Marie, of Woodstock, Vt. and Norman H. Harris, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Laconia, NH; two daughters, Dorothy Knowlton and her close friend, David McKay, of Sanbornton, NH and Helen Goodwin and her husband, William, of Laconia, NH; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004 from 6:00PM-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11:00 AM also at the Funeral Home.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Park Cemetery, Tilton, NH

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Foundation c/o Memorial Regional Hospital, 3435 Johnson Street, Hollywood, Florida 33021-9770.
