Marie Anna Fortier

Laconia-----Mrs. Marie Anna Fortier, 94, formerly of 84 Sheridan Street, Lakeport, died at the St. Francis Home on Thursday, January 2, 2003. Mrs. Fortier was the widow of Jules J. Fortier who died December 13, 1965.

Mrs. Fortier was born September 9, 1908 in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Gedeon and Georgia (Paquette) Racine. She lived in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada for many years before moving to Laconia, NH in the early 1930's.

Mrs. Fortier was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Fortier and Armand J. Fortier both of Lakeport, NH, a daughter, Rita M. Alessandro of Ledyard, Conn; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one sister, Yvette Lavoie, of Quebec City, Canada; and many nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 from 7-9PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH. Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
